The 12th Erasmus+ Staff Exchange Week takes place at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) from 17-21 June
This year, 27 foreign partner institutions from 19 countries (Spain, Poland, Germany, Latvia, Czech Republic, France, Croatia, Portugal, Slovakia, Greece, Bulgaria, Nigeria, Taiwan, Kosovo, Malaysia, Kenya, Ukraine, Australia, Vietnam and Lebanon) have come to MRU. For the second time, the Staff Exchange Week is implemented as an Erasmus+ Combined Intensive Programme (CIP) for staff No. 2022-1-LT01-KA131-HED- 000060564-2, and the guests gathered in Vilnius not only to get acquainted with MRU, but also to share with each other the experience of organising and managing the change in the last years. The participants also discussed good examples and opportunities for cooperation with non-EU universities and the key priorities of the Erasmus+ programme - sustainability and inclusion.
Before arriving in Vilnius, the participants had already met in the virtual learning programme on 12 June and during the Zoom workshop, they got acquainted with the capital of Lithuania, reviewed MRU's activities, and discussed in groups the biggest challenges they had to face during the last year.
In the contact part of the staff exchange week, the guests were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Studies, Prof. Dr. Regina Valutytė, and the University's International Office, the Academic Affairs Centre, the Research and Innovation Centre, the Community Welfare Center, and the Personnel Management Center shared their experiences and moderated the discussions.
Inesa Lacuk and Kornelija Gulbinskaitė, Project Managers of the Higher Education Mobility Unit of the Foundation for Educational Exchange Support, introduced the participants to the experience of Lithuanian higher education institutions in Erasmus+ activities with non-associated countries. Representatives of the University faculty introduced the participants to the organisation of the study process, the application of experiential learning methods and discussed possible prospects for cooperation. Representatives of ESN MRU Vilnius presented to the guests the results of the ending academic year in terms of ensuring the integration of the incoming exchange students and updating the priorities of the Erasmus+ programme.
The content of the training is complemented by interactive activities to learn about different cultures, which took place during an international lunch at MRU and an educational trip to the Lithuanian Ethnographic Museum in Rumšiškės and Kaunas.
