Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) undergraduate programme, "Law and Customs Activities" students were awarded Certificates attesting to their acquired practical knowledge required for work in customs.

May 24th, 2023, MRU "Law and Customs Activities" Bachelor's Degree students  completed more than two months of training conducted by customs experts. Training sessions were held after lectures.

Freshmen students, along with 2nd and 3rd year students, delved into customs activities. They learned about customs declarations, goods inspection, prohibited goods and restrictions, customs procedures, risk management, pre-trial investigation, tax liability to customs, tariff classification of goods, customs value of goods and origin of goods, as well as inspection of military goods.

According to MRU Law School Assoc. Prof. Dr. Juozas Valčiukas,  Head of the Bachelor’s Degree “Law and Customs Activities” programme, training focused on students' skills is a very valuable part of the studies process.

"Experiential training is an integral part of our student's life, which helps the student to decide on the relevant subject for the Bachelor's Degree paper, to choose the place of internship, and to make new contacts, which are later developed and deepened in the mentoring program," said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Valčiukas.

At the end of the training, the students passed a final exam. Customs Department representative Katažyna Lukaševič, presented Certificates, signed by the management of the Customs Department, to students who successfully completed the training.

The entire cycle of practical training was organized by MRU’s School of Law and the Customs Department.
