May 12th-14th, 2023, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) students participated in the "Students Hack Vilnius" event held on campus at the MRU LAB (Didlaukio St. 55).

There were 12 teams and more than 60 hackers competing for the best way to create mobile or web applications that solve real-life problems in a specific industry. In this way they improve lives not only in Vilnius, but throughout the world.

During the 36-hours hackathon, students worked on putting ideas into practice. Mentors provided students support during the event to help jump start an idea.

There were a number of great mentors and speakers that facilitated helping students generate solutions, business models and putting the ideas together in several hours.

The winner was the Found & Lost Team from the Vilnius Lyceum, whose solution is a virtual guide that tells users info based on their GPS location, without the need to pull out your phone.

The winning Team won a 300 EUR coupon to spend in any restaurant in Vilnius, sponsored by the Lithuanian Chamber of Auditors. Other gifts included: Startup Lithuania T-shirts and a consultation on how to launch and develop a startup!!

Thanks are in order to all mentors, speakers & the jury, who facilitated the entire hackathon and made it a great experience to not only learn, but also to have fun. Many thanks to: MRU Prof. Giedrė Čiuladienė, Alex Malyshev, Rūta Grėskaitė, Lina Zubovienė, Sava Kovalenko, and MRU Business and Economics Institute Assoc. Prof. Marius Lanskoronskis.
