Summary: Cambodia is pursuing an ambitious higher education reform policy (“Vision 2030 for Higher Education”) and quality assurance is an integral part of it. Key policy strategies include the development of quality assurance systems for higher education institutions in line with national accreditation standards. This would enable full participation in the global quality assured higher education system. The lines of action to achieve the above objective include the establishment of internal quality assurance mechanisms, the strengthening of capacities and skills as well as infrastructure, and the internal assessment of management and programmes. In this context, the SICA project proposes a framework of activities and actions to contribute to the achievement of the Cambodian Vision 2030 by improving internal quality assurance in Cambodian higher education institutions.

Result to be achieved: Strengthening capacity for professional development, exchange of good practices between the EU and Cambodia, setting up internal quality assurance units and embedding quality assurance processes are some of the priority areas of the Project.
