U.S. Academics Conducted Research at Applied Psychology Research LAB

In October 2022, two academics from the U.S. conducted research at the Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Applied Psychology Research LAB headed by MRU Prof. Rita Žukauskienė.

Arizona State University (ASU) Lecturer and researcher Dawn DeLay, who holds a PhD in Psychology, received a grant that funded her visit to MRU in order to take part in research, but also participated in the international SOCIN '22 Conference held on Oct. 20th at MRU.

Psychology Prof. Brett Laursen from Florida Atlantic Univesity, the recepient of an honorary doctorate from Sweden's Örebro University, also holds the position of Docent Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Helsinki, Finland. Laursen is an expert on parent-child and peer relationships.

Lecturer Dawn DeLay's research deals with social relationships with a focus on how similiarities and differences in individual identity affect forming of relationships. She is also interested how social change and social influence impact youth.

The academics had met MRU Prof. Žukauskienė at an international conference. They stayed in touch and Prof. Žukauskienė invited them to conduct research at MRU's campus in Vilnius. Prof. Laursen has co-edited a book with Prof. Žukauskienė in 2007 titled, Interpersonal Development.

Oct. 20th, 2022, Arizona State University (ASU) Lecturer and researcher Dawn DeLay from the U.S. will be participating in the 11th International SOCIN Conference on Social Innovations that will be held at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU).

DeLay, who holds a PhD in Psychology, recently received a grant that is funding her visit to MRU and to also to take part in research at the MRU Applied Psychological LAB, headed by Prof. Rita Žukauskienė.
