March 4th, 2016, the black-and-white portraits of photographer Valerija Dichavičienė have gone on display in the 2nd floor lobby of Mykolas Romeris University (MRU).

The unique exhibit includes portraits of Lithuania's cultural elite - painters, singers, photographers, poets, composers and professors.

Many of the personalities photographed such as singer, Lithuanian icon Antanas Šabaniauskas taken in 1983, or writer Mykolas Sluckis - from 1979 have passed away. The legendary Kaunas actress Rūta Staliliūnaitė, photographed in 1984 at the pinnacle of success, is also exhibited, but is deceased.

Although Dichavičienė doesn't consider herself a professional photographer, she said she took up photography after her famous husband, photographer Rimantas Dichavičius presented her with a "Leica" camera.

She has been engaged in photography since 1975 and is a member of the Lithuanian Photographer's Union.
