This spring 6 visiting professors from abroad will lecture at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) including India's Assoc. Prof. Raj Sekhar Basu on the Faculty of the University of Calcutta.
MRU won financing for the visits from Lithuania's Ministry of Education and Science.
The University submitted 16 applications for the competition, "Regarding Financing for Foreign Lecturers Arriving to Lecture in 2016." It won financing for 6 and another 8 academics are on a reserve list.
Prof. Basu is the former India Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Visiting Prof. at Mykolas Romeris University who spent almost 3 years at MRU lecturing on India and its Modern History. His stay ended in June 2014.
According to the Ministry of Education and Science, MRU was among the universities that was awarded the most financing to fund professors' visits from abroad in 2016.
At MRU professors from Estonia, Sweden, Croatia, Ireland and Portugal will be lecturing during 2016.
They will present lectures at MRU's Economics and Finance Management Faculty, Social Welfare Faculty, Public Security Faculty, the Business and Media School (BMS) and at MRU's Doctoral School.
