Jan. 13th, 2016, marking the 25th anniversary of Freedom Defenders' Day, the MRU academic community lit candles in the windows of the University, Library and Student House dorm facilities.

In this way MRU was part of the "Memory's Alive, Due to Witness" (Atmintis gyva, nes liudija), event.

During the morning, there was a live presentation, "A Lesson in Freedom," remembering the historic events as portrayed in the LRT programme.

Later, everyone was invited to the MRU Rotunda Hall (1st floor) to view the photography exhibit, "January Events Diary" by photographers Zenonas Nekrošius and Virgilijus Usinavičius.
