U.S. Indiana University Bloomington Chancellor's Prof. John Mikesell, who lectured to MRU's Faculty of Economics and Finance Management students in early December, said he noticed that students in Lithuania are more shy.

They are more afraid to ask questions, Prof. Mikesell said. He lectured at MRU Nov. 30th-Dec. 1st.

It is not his first visit to MRU's campus as he was in Vilnius 3 years ago.

But he said he noticed changes on campus including the newly-built MRU LAB building, which opened its doors this fall.

He has traveled widely and and taught in Ukraine, in Saratov and Moscow, Russia.

Prof. Mikesell completed his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Illinois - Urbana in 1969. He has a Master's Degree in Economics from the University of Illinois - Urbana and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics (cum laude) from Wabash College.

He is an expert in governmental finance, specializing in sales and property tax policy and administration and public budgeting systems.

Prof. Mikesell is the author of Fiscal Administration, Analysis and Applications for the Public Sector, the standard public finance and budgeting textbook in the graduate public affairs program. The book is now in its 9th edition.
