December 16th, 2015, Romanian student Oana Raluca Glavan defended her PhD dissertation: "Comparative Study of Structural Funds Administration in the Framework of European Union's (EU) Regional Policy in Romania and Lithuania."

The PhD dissertation was defended in English. The supervisor was MRU Political Sciences Institute Prof. Vygandas Paulikas.

The aim of the doctoral thesis was to propose a definition of 'good practices' in the field of Structural Funds administration mechanisms (institutional framework, programming and project level administration and implementation).

In addition, the thesis sought to compare implementation levels between Romania and Lithuania in order to identify what practices could represent good examples to efficiently take in EU funds.
