Sept. 15th, 2015, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Algirdas Monkevičius met with Japan's Ambassador Toyoei Shigeeda.
It was the Ambassador's first visit to Mykolas Romeris University after his appointment. He was accompanied by diplomat Tomoe Kotani.
MRU Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations Prof. Inga Žalėnienė also attended the meeting.
Ambassador Shigeeda is the 10th Japanese ambassador to Lithuania and the third Japanese ambassador residing in Lithuania.
The Ambassador began his diplomatic career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1977 and has held a number of positions since. He was adviser and minister at the Permanent Mission of Japan to the International Organisations in Vienna. He has a degree in law.
Before his appointment to Lithuania, he was consul general of Japan in Honolulu (the United States).
