Rowers Maščinskas & Ritter Win Silver, Griškonis – Bronze at Championships in France

September 6th, 2015, (Sunday), Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) students, champion rowers Rolandas Maščinskas and Saulius Ritter won silver medals in the Men's Double Sculls event at the 2015 World Rowing Championships held on Lake Aiguebelette, France.

Rower Mindaugas Griškonis won a bronze medal in the Men's Single Sculls event (6 min.57,64) bested only by gold medal winner Czech rower Ondrej Synek (6 min. 54,76) and New Zealander Olympic champion Mahe Drysdale (6 min. 55,10) who won a silver medal. He won the right to participate in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

This marks the first time that Griškonis won a medal in the World Rowing Championships.

Maščinskas and Ritter came in 2nd winning silver medals in the Men's Double Sculls event and won the right to participate in the upcoming 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.

The World Rowing Championships 2015 were held Aug. 30th - Sept. 6th on Lake Aiguebelette, France.

Ritter is studying Public Administration and Maščinskas is studying Public Policy and Management. Griškonis is a student in the Politics and Management Faculty.
