Student & Rowing Champ Griškonis Won Silver in Lucerne

July 12th, 2015, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) student and champion rower Mindaugas Griškonis won a silver medal at the World Rowing Cup in Lucerne, Switzerland in the Men's Single Sculls category.

Master's Degree student Griškonis had a powerful start. After the first 500 m he was only 0,9 seconds behind the leader, but New Zealand's rower Mahe Drysdale was faster and won a gold medal.

Two other MRU students, rowers Saulius Ritter and Rolandas Maščinskas in the pairs category, were declared winners earlier this summer. They retained their champion title and won gold medals in the World University Games in South Korea.

Griškonis is studying towards his Public Administration Degree in MRU's Politics and Management Faculty.
